Viewing Multimedia Content
The Center for Documentary Studies Web site is a dynamic site that
employs the Flash
Player plug-in for its multimedia audio and video content.
More recent photo galleries on our site are presented in Flash as
well.
Selected multimedia content, including all video content, is optimized
for broadband connections and may not be suitable for those with
56k or slower connections.
The most current version of the Flash Player plug-in is version
8. Many users already have a version of the Flash Player plug-in
installed in their Internet browsers. If you do not have the needed
version to view multimedia content, you will be prompted to download
it.
You may download the free Flash 8 plug-in and be assured you can
experience all of the Flash content on our site. It's quick and
easy to do. Visit the Macromedia Web site to download the Flash
8 Player plug-in:
Flash Player
Be certain to install the Flash 8 Player on each of your browsers
that you may utilize in visiting sites with Flash content.
Note for Macintosh users: Those using Internet Explorer on a Machintosh
platform on rare occasion may experience difficulty when playing
Flash content. This is the result of a browser-specific issue for
which there is apparently no work-around solution, though sometimes
refreshing the Web page may alleviate the problem. If you continue
to experience difficulty with Internet Explorer, please utilize
a different browser such as Safari or Mozilla.
Displaying PDF Documents
If your Web browser does not automatically read PDF documents, download
the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, which allows you to view, navigate,
and print PDF files across all major computing platforms.
Note on Browsers
The site is best viewed using a minimum 5.0 browser. Without using
current browsers, you may experience difficulties such as pop-up
windows that do not load. If you employ a "pop-up blocker,"
you should disable it while viewing our site. If you have an older
browser, we recommend taking the time to download the latest version
of:
Internet Explorer
Netscape
This site is optimized for 800 x 600 resolution or greater, 16 bit
high color, and a 56k or greater Internet connection (except for selected
multimedia content).
